Election Shenanigans and Shadowed Faces

Welcome back, folks! If you tuned into this week’s podcast episode, you would have been treated to some delightful banter between Rae and Lindsey, sprinkled with tales from election day that would make even the most seasoned political junkie chuckle. Let’s dive into the hilarious highlights!

Do You Feel Well Adjusted?

The episode starts with an important question: “Do you feel well-adjusted?” A profound inquiry, right? It turns out that Lindsey is feeling pretty good even though her chihuahua, Rico, seems to think he deserves a throne instead of just a cute little bed. I mean, who knew dogs had such high standards for nap spots?

On the other hand, Rae is basking in the chill vibes of her dogs, who are pleasantly occupied (or snoozing in offices — dog goals, am I right?). With one pup quietly taking up real estate on the couch and the other crashing in Liam's workspace, Rae seems to have mastered the art of canines entertaining each other.

Light It Up!

As the conversation continues, the two hilariously tackle the elephant in the room — their not-so-optimal lighting setup. Rae's shadowed face turns into a running joke as they realize their podcast aesthetic could use some work.

“It’s either fluorescent or shadowed, guys; that’s what I bring to the table.”

Classic Rae: setting the bar low for expectations!

Election Day Drama (Kind of)

Now, let's talk about Rae’s day as an election poll worker. Spoiler alert: She did not end up in jail! She recounts her excitement about the day being relatively drama-free until one delightful lady decides to spice things up with unsolicited political commentary.

"I had to come out and ensure that a hoe didn’t get elected!"

Yep, you read that right. Talk about a bold statement in the polling place! Rae, quick on her feet, promptly reminded her that political discussions were not on the agenda. Can we please get Rae a diplomacy medal?

Praise for the Poll Watcher

The highlights continue as Rae describes a friendly poll watcher who was like a breath of fresh air compared to her last experience. This guy was polite and genuinely surprised that everything was running smoothly. After hearing how folks back at his regular polling place were more, let’s say, “challenging,” he ended up giving Rae and her team glowing reviews. Who knew polling could end with compliments and not just complaints? So much for election shenanigans from this guy!

A Day Well Spent

In their usual humorous fashion, Rae and Lindsey recount that the friendly vibe in the polling place made the day fly by. They even pondered who gets to hear about their stellar performance — perhaps a postcard to the mayor?

So, what have we learned today? Aside from the apparent need for better lighting, Rae’s day centered around awkward political discussions and the importance of friendly poll watchers. It turns out that while election day can have its fair share of craziness, having a good attitude and a few giggles can turn it all around.

So, grab your dogs, kick back in your cozy spots, and catch up on this week’s episode for more laughs and less drama — unless you want to hear about the lady and her campaign to ensure “no hoes” get elected. Until next time, folks!
